Gregory Malek-Jones (Jose) |
Greg Malek-Jones (Jose) was born in San Antonio, Texas, and now attends the Professional Performing Arts School in Manhattan. He studies ballet at the School of American Ballet with Madame Olga Kostritsky. He first studied dance with Maya Milenovic-Workman of the Montclair Academy of Dance. In 2003, he performed the title role in George Balanchine's The Nutcracker, at Lincoln Center with the New York City Ballet. He performed with NYC Ballet in Swan Lake twice as a Small Jester and as one of the Village Children. He is also the understudy for a Scaramouche in their production of Harlequinade. Greg will reprise the Nutcracker Prince role this year with New York Dance Theatre and the Frank Ohman School of Ballet at Hofstra University in Long Island. Recognition of Excellence in Community Theater (R.E.C.T) nominated Greg as Best Male Ensemble Actor in a Musical, the Perry Award, for his role as Young Cain in MOC Musical Theater's Children of Eden. Greg has also performed with the MOC ensemble in Showboat and Sideshow. Greg's first regional stage appearances were with the Paper Mill Playhouse in Milburn, New Jersey. He performed with children ensembles in Carousel and The King and I. Twice he has attended Papermill's Summer Musical Theater Conservatory and performed in their productions as well as their fundraisers. Last summer, he trained at the New York State Summer School of the Arts ballet program in Saratoga Springs. Greg's voice achievements include singing the demo presentation for You Came Into My Life, the theme for the movie Only Perfect. He sang with Margaret Ann Gates in her recording New Songs. He routinely performs voiceovers for Full House Productions in the development of language instruction tapes. He also performed in Camp Broadway's 2002 entry in Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, singing with the ensemble in Accentuate the Positive with Joey Lawrence. Tap Dreams is Greg's first movie. Among his many thanks along the way go his voice teacher, Linda Baker Grimm of Montclair, NJ, musical theater directors Gary John La Rosa and Bob Cline, the Tap Dreams cast, and of course Anthony Giordano for his constant encouragement. |
Nora G. McDonough (Betty) |
"Tap Dreams" is Nora's film debut. She is a stage actress who has done plays on both coasts for the past 45 years. Currently she is a member of Alliance Repertory and Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre which are both in New Jersey. Her next show will be the Christmas production at What Exit? theatre company in Maplewood,N.J. in December 2004. |
Jennifer Parkinson (Sister Joan) |
After intensely training at The School for Film and Television in NYC, Jennifer landed her first film role as Mrs. Flannigan in the Indie Film "Someone Else." She is currently a member of Love Creek Productions and is performing at the Beckman Theater as Mary in "Women of the Wild West." |
Sam H. Sebastian (Robert) |
Sam Sebastian was born and raised in North Jersey. He is a graduate of Edison High School which has a famous alumni Susan Sarandon. He studied drama at many reputable playhouses including George Street Playhouse, Villagers Barn Theatre and The Paper mill Playhouse as well as HB Studios and The School for Film and Television in NY. Sam has been actively performing for over ten years. He was part of the original cast of players for the NJ Renaissance Festival. He currently has a few films in post production such as I feel Love, Heat wave and Stake Out. When not acting Sam is an active volunteer with Broadway Cares Equity Fights Aids. |
Drew Seltzer (Father Paul) |
Drew Seltzer(Father Paul) has appeared in the films Sex and Sushi and A Beautiful Mind of a Gladiator which recently premiered at the New York Independent Film and Video Festival in Los Angeles. His T.V. credits include the recent hit show "Trackers" on the Oxygen Network and he is currently performing in the original "Tony n' Tina's Wedding" in Broadway |
Michele Stuart (Heather) |
Michele is a graduate of Duke University. She studied acting at HB studio in NY. She has also studied improv with the Upright Citizens Brigade. Her theater credits include performances at the Manhattan Theater Source and UCB Theater. This is her first full length on screen appearance. |

Linda Turash (Maxine) |
Linda is a resident of Brick N.J, and has been performing for many years. Some of her favorite stage roles include Martha in "Who's afraid of Virginia Wolf?," ,Eleanor in "The Lion in Winter," and Serafina in "The Rose Tattoo.." Recent credits include performances of her one woman show, "I am woman help!" at Shea Theater, N.Y, and Mrs. Campbell in "Dear Liar," at DaVinci gallery in Philadelphia. Film credits include a lead role as Susie Valle in the Indie film "Making Change". (Big Pool Prod.) Linda holds a BA in elementary ed, ,and enjoys teaching acting classes to children of all ages. She also enjoys touring preschools with a character she created , "Mrs. Cheery-o from make-believe-ville," and perfuming voiceovers. Linda is very happy to be part of "Tap Dreams." |
Joann Roony Schoenig (Alice) |
Joann Rooney Schoenig (Alice)is a resident of Monroe Twp., N.J. Joann has owned and operated her own dance school (Joann's School of Dance located in Eliz., N.J.) for twenty years. She is a member of Dance Educators of America, Arts Council Co-Op and National Dance Teachers Association. In 1999 she was awarded most outstanding dance director. She has choreagraphed over 1,000 dances, many which have one national ranking and special recognition awards. She also judges many state and national dance competitions. Dancing is her life and she loved playing Alice in "Tap Dreams". |
